http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive#As_an_invasive_species http://www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/invweed/WeedsHI/W_Olea_europaea.pdf As an invasive species Olives have become a common invasive weed in the Adelaide Hills of Australia, pictured here alongside other invasive species such as Artichoke thistle, Fennel and Bamboo Since its first domestication, Olea europaea has been spreading back to the wild from planted groves. Its original wild populations in southern Europe have been largely swamped by feral plants.[39] In some other parts of the world where it has been introduced, most notably South Australia, the olive has become a major woody weed that displaces native vegetation. In South Australia, its seeds are spread by the introduced red fox and by many bird species, including the European starling and the native emu, into woodlands, where they germinate and eventually form a dense canopy that prevents regeneration of native trees.[40] As the climate of South Australia is very dry and bushfire prone, the oil rich feral olive tree substantially increases the fire hazard of native Sclerophyll woodlands.[41]

This goes GREAT with the Lavender Scones. I know it sounds strange, but even my husband (who normally does not eat food with lavender) likes the Scones, and he also specifically requests this Jelly so I end up stocking up every few months with an order.
