Supporting Local Business Helps Maui Recover and Thrive

Maui Wine

AKL Maui is a small locally owned and operated business. Therefore we know the commitment, effort and heart that it takes day after day. As we recover from wildfires that Maui experienced on August 8, 2023, we turnout focus on strengthening the community from within.  We want to embrace this opportunity to celebrate and support our fellow small businesses that make upcountry a unique and thriving community.  We will continue to feature and highlight a small local business, please consider supporting these businesses.

Let us tell you about this week’s feature, a grand experience for those 21 and up, and just a short scenic drive from  from Ali’i Kula Lavender: Maui Wine

This 23 acre farm is located in dreamy Ulupalakua, surrounded by historic ranching land and forests. Located here is Maui Wine, which offers both a variety of Maui made wines and a historical experience. The property itself was first leased from King Kamehameha III in the late 1800s as a ranch , dairy and also hosted the local jail. It would later become a winery in the 1970s, and the weathered stone jail became a private tasting room. As the grape orchards awaited maturation, the winery turned to Maui pineapples for wine making, which was highly popular and still in production today, along with 140 varieties of grapes.

Enjoy wine tasting, learning about production and just enjoy the view of this beautiful property.

Those who can’t make it to Maui right now can support this local business by shopping their online store, for wine, houseware, clothing and more  here.
